Belarus Open Championship closed – Champions 2010 returned to defend their titles in 2011
Belarus Open Championship has been successfully finished in Minsk at Sporting Club shooting venues. 35 shooters from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia and Lebanon took part in the greatest event. The competition was held in individual classification (125 targets). The Champion of Belarus was determined among 6 strongest sportsmen in the final (25 targets).
In skeet the Chairman of BSSF, Andrey Gerachtchenko, became the leader coping with 143 targets out of 150 possible (119 + 24 in the final). Alexander Debchinsky from Ukraine took silver with the result of 137 hit targets. Dmitriy Baranov from Belarus was 4 targets behind (133) and took the third place.
In trap Alexey Rosochinsky from Russia managed 130 targets and took gold. Anton Byvshev from Russia was the best in the shoot-off for the second place. Pavel Gurkin from Russia, the silver medalist of the 2011 World Cup event in Chile, became the third. They hit 127 targets before the shoot-off.
In the final 6 Belarusian strongest sportsmen were competing intensely for the title ”Champion of Belarus 2011”. But Andrey Gerachtchenko and Andrey Kovalenko, the Belarusian Champions 2010, managed to defend their titles in 2011 and became absolute favorites.
